Sedation Dentistry

Sedation dentistry ensures our young patients stay calm, comfortable, and safe during dental treatments. The American Dental Association recommends appropriate sedation when needed to help patients feel at ease. It is crucial to inform us of any medical concerns, medications, or treatments prior to using a sedative or anesthetic. Our dentists will discuss the available options and the sedation process with you, including pre- and post-sedation instructions, before treatment begins.

We use sedation to help our young patients feel more at ease, allowing us to complete more steps during their appointment, resulting in less time in the chair.

We recommend sedation when:

  • Performing larger procedures such as fillings, root canals, crowns, extractions, and periodontal treatments.
  • Treating patients who are more fearful, have a lower pain tolerance, a strong gag reflex, various physical handicaps, or are too young to understand the procedures.
  • Working with patients who find it challenging to stay still.
